Fred Kerley is a USA international track & field sprinter. The 30-year-old was the Olympic silver medalist over 100 m at the 2020 Olympics and bronze medalist at the 2024 Olympics in the track and field event. His personal best time of 43.64 seconds makes him the tenth fastest man in history over 400 meters. The American international is one of the only three men to have broken 10 seconds in the 100m, 20 seconds in the 200m and 44 seconds in the 400m alongside Michael Norman and Wayde Van Niekerk.

According to the latest reports, the 30-year-old has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for reportedly not following and violating the Anti-Doping whereabouts. The whereabouts information is very important to testing athletes who choose to cheat themselves by doping and Fred Kerley has been accused of violating the same. If the American International’s ban is upheld, he will reportedly have to face a two-year suspension from participating in any professional event.

Fred Kerley intends to challenge the decision made against him: Reports

The US international is reportedly very unhappy with the decision made by the AIU and is determined to contest the allegation to his name as confirmed by his lawyers. They posted a statement on social media stating that, "Fred Kerley strongly believes that one or more of his alleged missed tests should be set aside either because he was not negligent or because the doping control officer did not do what was reasonable under the circumstances to locate him at his designated location.

According to the World Anti-Doping code an athlete cannot miss three anti-doping tests and/or filing failure in it in the span of a year. Fred Kerley will be looking to clear his name as he feels that he is clear of the allegation against him and the case will be presented in the court.
