14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi shattered several records after he smashed a 35-ball hundred for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 clash against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, April 28. After his memorable knock, Suryavanshi has been a hot topic all over the cricketing fraternity. Recently, his childhood coach Manoj Ojha revealed the sacrifices he made to get to this stage of his career.
Manoj Ojha said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi loved to eat pizza and mutton but stopped eating them to make sure that he doesn’t put on extra weight. “Mutton nahi khana hai usko, instructions hain. Pizza hata diya hai uske diet chart mein se (He’s not allowed to eat mutton. I have removed pizza from his diet chart)," Ojha told The Times of India.
“He is just fond of chicken and mutton. He is a kid, so he used to love pizza a lot. But he doesn’t eat it anymore. When we used to give him mutton, no matter how much we gave, he would finish all of it. That’s why he looks a bit chubby,” he further added.
Vaibhav a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara: Manoj Ojha
Manoj Ojha also hailed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his record-ton against GT and also called him a mixture of Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh. Vaibhav became the youngest player to hit a hundred in T20 cricket and also smashed the fastest hundred by an Indian player (35 balls) in the IPL. He scored 101(38) runs as RR chased the target of 210 runs within 16 overs.
“He’s a fearless batter. He has said time and again that he admires Brian Lara. But he’s a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara. His aggression is just like Yuvraj’s," Manoj Ojha said.
