Legend and veteran of the game, Venus Williams on Tuesday, July 29 was confirmed as a wild card entrant to the upcoming tennis major, the US Open 2025 Championship. With the tournament set to be played from August 18 till September 7 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the Flushing Meadows in the New York City, Williams, who recently appeared at the DC Open has achieved a wild card entry.

Williams recently became the second oldest woman in the history to win a tour-level singles match when she defeated 23-year-old Peyton Stearns 6-3, 6-4, aged 45. While she advanced into the Round of 16, but went down against Poland’s Magdalena Frech 2-6, 2-6. But her recent wins came with a lot of positives as Williams is all set to return to the tennis major after she secured a wild card entry for US Open 2025.

Venus Williams to pair with Riley Opelka for US Open 2025 mixed doubles

The 45-year-old American tennis legend, Venus Williams has secured a wild card entry into the US Open mixed doubles, where she will pair up with Riley Opelka. Furthermore, it has to be seen that Venus Williams can ask for a wild card entry into the singles draw too, but as confirmed by the US Open organisers, she will join the 15 other pairs in a fight to lift the mixed doubles titles.
