Indian bowling star Shardul Thakur spoke about the struggles of the Men in Blue on the iconic Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2021. Team India won their second consecutive BGT where the side was bundled out for 36 in the first Test. From that result, India battled countless adversities to slay the mighty Aussies at their fortress of Gabba in the final Test and emerged victorious.
But speaking about Thakur, one of the heroes during India's victory, exposed Australia's horrible treatment during the Gabba Test. The 32-year-old revealed the Indian players were treated poorly and didn't get any housekeeping for 4-5 days. The CSK star also revealed that they needed to change the bedsheets if they wanted clean rooms.

"The way they treated us was very horrible. For 4 or 5 days there won't be any housekeeping service in the hotel. So if you want to change your bed sheets, you would have to walk up the stairs for four or five floors, get the bed sheets when you are tired, come and change it and do your own things," Shardul Thakur said.
The 2024 Ranji Trophy champion also slammed then-Australian captain Tim Paine for his comments on the Indian team. Thakur, at the same event, said, "I heard some interview from Tim Paine and that man was absolutely lying because he was just saving himself by making up things in the media and covering up that they didn't put any pressure on the Indian team and we gave them whatever they wanted."
