Star Indian batter Virat Kohli is likely to make his return in the Ranji Trophy after 13 years. Having played his last Ranji match in 2012, Kohli can be seen in action in domestic cricket again. As reported by Cricbuzz, the 36-year-old will join Delhi’s Ranji squad ahead of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy fixture against Saurashtra in Rajkot on January 23. Along with Kohli, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who has already confirmed his availability for Ranji Trophy, is likely to lead Delhi in the upcoming match. 

Notably, Virat Kohli hasn’t made any confirmation regarding his availability for the Ranji Trophy, However, according to the new guidelines by the BCCI, it became mandatory for all players from men’s cricket to participate in domestic cricket. Ashok Sharma, secretary of Delhi and Distrcit Cricket Association (DDCA) has also confirmed that they will announce their squad on Friday, January 18, and are yet to get confirmation from Kohli. 

Ravindra Jadeja to join Saurashtra Ranji squad: Reports

Along with Virat Kohli,, another senior player of the Indian cricket team, Ravindra Jadeja can also be seen join Saurashtra’s squad ahead of the Ranji match against Delhi. The star all-rounder didn’t have a memorable outing in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy down under and also delayed his departure from Australia to spend more time with his family. The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) also stated that they are hopeful to see Jadeja on field in match against Delhi on January 23.

“There are chances, but at this stage we have not heard from him yet," an SCA official was quoted as saying by News18. Along with this, KL Rahul is also yet to confirmed his availability for Karnataka, while players like Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal are likely to play in Rani Trophy.
