India's squad for T20I series is likely to be announced today. However, ahead of the big announcement, a shocking report has emerged. According to a report on InsideSport , Virat Kohli is set to take a break from the shortest format of the game. The Indian cricketing star will only be available for Tests and ODIs in the near future.

The report has further mentioned that Kohli will not play any T20I matches before IPL 2023. Notably, Kohli has not informed the BCCI about the timeframe of his return. The report has added that the 34-year-old will take a vacation to celebrate new years and will return for ODI series against Sri Lanka, which is starting on January 10.
Along with Kohli, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma will also miss out from the T20Is. While KL is set to miss out due to his wedding, Rohit Sharma is recovering from thumb injury. Hardik Pandya will lead the team in T20Is in the absence of Rohit.
