The recent social media dispute between singer Rahul Vaidya and cricketer Virat Kohli has been amicably resolved. Vaidya announced that Kohli had unblocked him on Instagram, expressing gratitude and referring to Kohli as "India ka garv" (India's pride). This reconciliation follows Vaidya's earlier criticism, where he mocked Kohli's explanation of an Instagram glitch and labeled him a "joker." He also condemned the online abuse directed at his family, urging for more respectful discourse.
The dispute began when Virat Kohli's Instagram account liked a post featuring actress Avneet Kaur. Kohli later clarified that this was due to an algorithmic glitch and not intentional. Rahul Vaidya responded by mocking this explanation, sarcastically attributing it to Instagram's mistake, and went on to label Kohli a "joker" on social media. He also claimed that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram. The situation intensified when Vaidya accused Kohli's fans of sending abusive messages to his family and sharing morphed images of his daughter.
RCB secure playoffs qualification in IPL 2025
In the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Virat Kohli has been a standout performer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He leads the tournament with seven half-centuries, amassing 505 runs in 11 matches, with a top score of 73*. RCB's recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out due to rain, granting them one point and placing them at second position in the table. Kohli's consistent performances have been crucial for RCB's success this season.
RCB has two remaining group-stage matches: against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27 at Ekana Cricket Stadium. Securing at least one win from these matches would solidify their position in the top of the table. Under the leadership of new captain Rajat Patidar, RCB will aim to maintain their momentum and clinch their maiden IPL title.
