The BCCI has reportedly decided to send former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman as the head coach of the Indian team for the Asian Games, which are scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China next month. This has been decided because Ra hul Dravid is likely to be busy with the preparations of the ODI World Cup in India. Additionally, Hrishikesh Kanitkar is reported to be the head coach for the women’s contingent at the Asian Games.
Sairaj Bahutule, the bowling coach, and Munish Bali, the fielding coach, will accompany Laxman, according to a report published in Times of India. The NCA President is currently in charge of a high-performance conditioning programme for young Indian players in Alur, Bengaluru.
Talking about the women’s contingent, Rajib Dutta will be the bowling coach, and Subhadeep Ghosh is expected to take care of the fielding department at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The women's team will play first, beginning on September 19. India will start with the quarterfinal round, with the final scheduled for the 26th September due to their ICC ranking in the format. The men's competition will start on September 28 and end on October 7, the day prior to Team India’s campaign at the ODI World Cup 2023.
