The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has made interesting revelations during a recent interview. The former India captain said that his former teammate VVS Laxman is an absolute gold of a person and is, in fact, shifting with his family from Hyderabad to Bangalore for the next three years to take up the coaching position at the National Cricket Academy, vacated by current India head coach Rahul Dravid.

Ganguly added that Laxman was also keen on getting the national team position but was convinced that the Hyderabad star would get an opportunity with the national team in the future and his stint at NCA will only help him much like it helped Dravid who has earned the respect of the youngsters and after having worked with them closely will know exactly what to expect from them now that he is working with a few of them in the senior men's team setup.

A video of the same interview was shared by senior sports journalist Boria Majumdar on his social media.

"Here is @SGanguly99 on the new NCA boss @VVSLaxman281 and how it all happened. Could well be the start for VVS to eventually take over the national team. Listen in to know. @RevSportz @AgeasFederal @OfficialFanatic @Just_My_Roots #BWB keep watching this space," he wrote.

Earlier Laxman had expressed his shock at the injuries to Team India ahead of the second test match against New Zealand in Mumbai. However, he believed that the team has capable players to select from even in their absence.

"Did something happen this morning? But Virat Kohli said nothing about in the press conference yesterday. It is obviously a big blow. Jadeja was injured in that England series and Axar Patel came in and he was named Player of the Series," Laxman said on Star Sports.

"The way he bowled was just fantastic to see. And then you saw Shreyas Iyer, who came in place of Virat Kohli. He straightaway stamped his authority under tremendous pressure. So I guess India have got very good players who can replace players who are missing due to injuries," he added.
