With tensions escalating between India and Pakistan after the recent terror attacks in the Kashmir valley, the Indian government along with the defence forces have come up with strong actions under Operation Sindoor - a precision strike, which was conducted post midnight on May 7. However, there have been too and fro movement at the international borders, the Indian subcontinent has stood in solidarity with the defence forces amid these tensed times.
The esteemed personalities from the sports arena have also come up in support of the Indian military, voicing their strong support for the Indian armed forces. Be it world leaders, several sports personalities have also voiced their opinions on the matter, asserting that the country will deliver firm response.
Former India cricketers, including Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, Venkatesh Prasad have stood in support of the armed forces, hailing their strong retaliation. In a post on X, Sehwag has accused Pakistan of choosing war. “Was has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet. They have escalated to save it’s terrorist assets, speaks so much about them. Our forces will reply in the most appropriate manner, a manner Pakistan will never forget,” Sehwag captioned the post.
Former India opener, Shikhar Dhawan also expressed solidarity, writing, “Respect to our brave hearts for protecting our borders with such strength and stopping the drone attack on Jammu. India stands strong. Jai Hind!” Former India seamer, Venkatesh Prasad while expressing solidarity with Indian armed forces, also called Pakistan a “rouge state”. “What a complete rogue state Pakistan is. India will screw them like how”, he wrote on X.
Sports personalities stand in support of Indian armed forces amid tensions
While these weren’t the only ones as several have backed the Indian services for standing strong and guarding our borders amid such tensed times. India’s ‘Golden Boy’, Neeraj Chopra also hailed the Indian armed forces while urging the everyone to follow the guidelines. “We are proud of our Brave Indian Armed Forces who are fighting for our nation against Terrorism. Let’s do our part and make sure to follow guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety during this time”, Neeraj Chopra wrote.
India’s ace badminton star, PV Sindhu also took to X and wrote, “To the brave men and women of the Indian Armed Forces — your courage, discipline, and sacrifice are the soul of our nation. In moments like #OperationSindoor, we're reminded of the silent strength and selfless service that keep our tricolour flying high. India stands with you. Jai Hind!"
