The ongoing T20 World Cup has been nothing short of any surprises since the start of tournament. India, who were the favourites to win the title, lost two games back-to-back which ultimately resulted in their early exit from the mega event. On the other hand, South Africa played brilliantly to win 4 games but still failed to qualify for the knockouts.

As it happened, the four semi-finalists were: England, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand. The cricket fraternity and various experts across the globe predicted a grand finale between England and Pakistan, as the two teams looked a class apart from the rest in Super 12 stages. However, things did not really turn out the way as expected as New Zealand secured a thrilling win over England while Australia handed defeat to Pakistan against all odds.

T20 WC semi-finals outcome explained by a funny meme

While reflecting on the situation in the mega event and to sum up two semi-finals, former Indian cricketer turned meme king - Wasim Jaffer - came up with a hilarious post on social media. The 43-year-old explained the World Cup scenario while giving a reference from a famous Bollywood classic - Deewana Mastana.

In the film, Govinda and Anil Kapoor were the favourites to marry Juhi Chawla. But towards the end, it was Salman Khan who tied knots with Juhi and Govinda-Anil were left as witnesses to their marriage in the presence of late Kader Khan.

However, Jaffer hilariously turned the whole scene into a meme to describe the scenario to fans. He termed Govinda and Anil as England and Pakistan respectively, who were the favourites to be happy at the end. But as it turned out, it was Juhi (New Zealand) and Salman (Australia) who ended by marrying signifying that they will be playing the finals of the mega event in presence of late Kader Khan (ICC).

"Parampara, Pratishtha, Anushasan" - Jaffer on Australian team

Jaffer has been quite busy on social media throughout the course of his tournament and has been entertaining the fans with his witty tweets. After Australia knocked out an in-form Pakistan side to qualify for finals of T20 WC, the 43-year-old posted a famous dialogue of Amitabh Bachchan from the movie 'Mohabbatein' which stated - Parampara, Pratishtha, Anushasan (Honour, Tradition, and Discipline).

It signifies the fact that although Australia were not in great form coming into the tournament, they have a history of rising to the occasion when it comes to ICC events. Having won 5 ODI World Cup titles, they are now aiming to win their first T20 WC trophy in their first appearance in finals of tournament since 2010.
