After getting picked for a whopping INR 1.1 Crore in the mega auction, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi finally got to make his debut for Rajasthan Royals in match number 36 of IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Playing in his debut IPL game, Suryavanshi announced his arrival in the cash-rich league in style by smashing a huge six on his first ball against LSG pacer Shardul Thakur.
Batting first after winning the toss, LSG posted 180/5 in their 20 overs, with the help of half-centuries by Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni. Abdul Samad also gave finishing touches with 30*(10) runs. Chasing the winning target, Yashasvi Jaiswal came to open the innings with Vaibhav Suryavnashi, who got a chance in the playing XI as an impact player in place of regular skipper Sanju Samson. After getting a strike on the fourth ball of the first over, the young batter smashed a flat six that landed over extra cover.

Chasing the winning target, RR got a flying start as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi put up an opening partnership of 85 runs in 8.4 overs. Playing in his debut game, 14-year-old Suryavanshi got a great start and was looking to get a big score before he lost his wicket against Aiden Markram, led by a great stumping by skipper Rishabh Pant. After losing his wicket, Suryavanshi wasn’t happy and was seen crying on his way back to the pavilion.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi got out after scoring 34 runs off 20 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. In the next over, Nitish Rana also lost his wicket after scoring a mere eight runs. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his fifty in just 31 balls and is still at the crease with stand-in captain Riyan Parag as RR are looking in great position to chase the target.
