India vs Pakistan is a different emotion altogether. It’s just not a cricket field when the two teams are up against each other, it’s a battlefield. And the involvement of fans is what makes things even more special. An example of the same was seen during the T20 World Cup match between the two teams on Sunday (23 October). As India and Pakistan locked horns in what was the opening fixture for both teams, the fans kept their energy levels high as ever.

The Indian fans certainly outnumbered their counterparts as they acquired more than 70% of the seats. And the atmosphere became even more lively when 90000 Indian fans came together to sing the country’s national anthem. As India restricted Pakistan to 159/8, Indian fans celebrated by singing the national anthem during the innings break.

In a video going viral on the internet, Indian fans are seen singing the verse of the national anthem while hosting the tricolour high.

Coming to the game, the second half did not start the way Indian fans would have hoped. In fact, it started in a completely opposite way. India lost both its openers within the first four overs. While KL Rahul chopped on a delivery from Naseem Shah, Rohit Sharma outside-edged a delivery from Haris Rauf which was well caught by Iftikhar Ahmed.

Suryakumar Yadav tried to take the attack to the opposition but a climbing delivery from Rauf was too hot to handle for the Indian batter. India bluffed by sending Axar Patel at No.5 but it did not work. Patel was dismissed run out. This reduced India to 31/4 in 6.1 overs in a chase of 160. Nevertheless, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli have kept the hopes alive for these 90000 fans at the venue and to many more sitting back home.
