Canada-born actress and dancer Nora Fatehi, who has a massive fan following in India recently performed at the FIFA World Cup 2022. Fatehi, who was also a part of the song Light The Sky set the stage on fire with her electrifying performance. But it was not her groovy moves or the song that flattered the Indian audience. Instead, a lovely gesture from the actress melted the hearts of Indian fans.
As Nora Fatehi has been living in India for a while and has been working in the Indian film industry for a long time, the Canadian actress has developed a love for the nation. Fatehi often says that India has a special place in her heart. In fact, she says she feels ‘an Indian heart’ and the belly dancer proved it during her performance in Qatar.
Invited to entertain the audience through her energetic performance, Fatehi walked out on the stage with the Indian national flag wrapped around her. She also hoisted the Indian tricolor and chanted ‘Jai Hind’ and asked the audience to join in too. This video of Nora showing her love for India was shared widely and also earned her a lot of praise from all corners.
“It's good to see that she is acknowledging the country which is giving her work,” commented a user on the viral video. “Atleast Indian song hua Fifa me..good to see..and it's good she got the flag and represented India,” wrote another.
A few also pointed out that Nora had held the Indian flag upside down. “Bruh! flag toh ulta h,: pointed one user. However, many Indian fans defended saying it was a mistake and she must be credited for pure intentions. “Comment box wala Indians waiting to be offended over the slightest of mistakes while completely missing the bigger picture!” wrote another one.
Talking about Indian representation at the FIFA World Cup, the Indian football team is yet to play at the biggest footballing event. India is expected to qualify for the quadrennial event in the upcoming edition with the global football governing body allowing 48 teams instead of 32.
