The ICC World Test Championship final should have been underway till now with over 90 minutes of play done and dusted. Instead, even the toss hasn’t happened yet and if the current weather conditions are anything to go by, it seems unlikely that the match will be able to begin on Day 1. While there is an hour or two of no rain as per predictions but since the stadium is completely drenched and soaked with water, the ground staff will have a hard time making the conditions suitable for play.

Amid this, a video has now gone viral on the internet which shows the latest scenes of the stadium. It clearly shows the wet outfield which will make it difficult for players to take the field. Play will not resume unless the ground is deemed safe to play by the umpires.

Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan has yet again taken a sly dig at India. He said that India has been saved owing to the weather conditions, suggesting that Virat Kohli and company would have been struggling against the Kiwis had the rain not interrupted play. “I see India have been saved by the weather,” he tweeted. Vaughan had earlier predicted New Zealand to win the ICC World Test Championship final.

Elsewhere in England, the India Women are struggling against the hosts as they are bowled out for 231 runs in the first innings. Sophie Ecclestone has done the bulk of the damage for the home side, scalping 4 wickets.
