Amidst a Kolkata Knight Riders onslaught led by Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss his opposite number. After conceding a single on the first ball, the South African bowled slower delivery just outside off which turned away.

Nitish Rana, looking in incredible form, only managed to get a top edge which went high into the sky.  Reacting to this shot,  Aiden Markram ran almost down to long-on and then threw in a full-stretch dive to complete a stunning catch. Rana was dismissed at a score of 42 in 31 balls with three fours and three sixes.

After this catch, Kolkata's batting hit a major speed breaker but Rinku Singh held the innings from one end. The UP batter finished his knock at a score of 45 in 35 balls with four boundaries and one six. and help KKR post a total of 171 runs.

In the mid-innings interview, SRH all-rounder Marco Jensen spoke about how he was happy with his and the team's performance. The South African also talked about the pitch having some extra bounce which gave him an advantage.

He said, "Very happy except for that no-ball, but otherwise very happy with my performance. We saw that there was quite a lot of bounce (on the pitch), so the plan was to hit the deck hard and get some lift from the surface. I want to have a wicket-taking mindset, so just go and try to execute the plan as much as possible."
