Alex Pereira set to fight Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313

UFC came up with a shocking announcement on Saturday that, Alex Pereira will lock horns with Russia’s Magomed Ankalaev for the light heavyweight title at UFC 313. The fight is scheduled to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 8, 2025. Apart from that, Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker are also set to take on each other in the co-main event. It came as a big surprise for the fans as the fight was due for a long time.

Alex Pereira also shared a post on his X account where he wrote, "See you soon Ankalaev", sending a direct message to a Russian MMA fighter. This post also denied the rumours that Periera was hesitant to fight Magomed Ankalaev because of his relentless grappling and pressure. Being a number one contender for almost a year, Ankaleav will now have to play as number two as Pereira went on to achieve two title defenses on short notice in 2024.
