The ONE 161 event was kicked off with an incredible bout between Iranian Ali Foladi and Matheus Felipe from Brazil. This fight also marked the debut of the Brazilian fighter which didn’t go in his favour. Foladi just needed the first round of the fight as he pulled out a monster right-hand to mark his return to the ONE Championship. 


The Middleweight contest started with Felipe pushing the Iranian into the Circle Wall. Both fighters brought aggressive intent in the first minute as the Brazilian was closing in the distance but when Foladi showed some good footwork. Ali soon picked up his shots and got his composure back. Felipe’s pressure put the 31-year-old on the back. However, Foladi picked up his offence and landed an incredible right hand that put his Brazilian opponent to sleep. 

The high-action bought kicked off an incredible event which saw the crowning of a new World Champion was crowned at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tawanchai PK. Saenchai went five exciting rounds against Petchmorakot Petchyindee to secure the victory with a unanimous decision and become the new ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion. This victory ended Petchmorakot’s two-and-a-half-year reign.
