In the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup, Alyssa Healy played one of the greatest knocks in World Cup history. Healy scored a massive 170 off 138 with 26 boundaries at a strike rate of 123.19. The Aussies went to score 356 runs as Rachel Haynes and Beth Mooney scored 68 and 62 respectively.

Healy has been one of the most crucial players in the history of cricket as she has scored some big knocks in some very important games. In their last game itself, she scored a scintillating 129 of 107 balls as the Aussies put up 305 in just 45 overs. Then in the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup final against India, she scored 75 in just 39 balls.

But in this innings, Alyssa Healy looked in a different rhythm as she was hitting some incredible shots. But the most iconic stroke from her innings was the scoop shot played against Kate Cross in the 37th over.  As Cross came to deliver the ball, Healy shuffled across the stumps and scooped the delivery over the keeper for another boundary.

Flashback to 2019

In the final of the 2019 Men’s World Cup, English batter Jos Buttler had played a similar shot as the Three Lions were chasing 242 against New Zealand. England needed 76 runs off 61 balls as Kiwi pacer Matt Henry came into bowl the last ball of his over. Like Healy, Buttler shuffled and scooped Henry over fine leg for a four.
