Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant survived a fatal road accident in the wee hours of Friday as his car rammed into the divider while he was enroute to his hometown in Roorkee from Delhi. Reportedly, Pant had to escape from the burning car by breaking the glasses of the car, and sustained injuries but was not in danger.

Following the incident, Uttarakhand DG informed that Pant dozed off while driving and lost control. Meanwhile, an old video featuring Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan has resurfaced on internet, where the wicketkeeper batter was seen getting an advice to drive slowly by the Punjab Kings opener. 

In the video, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant were engaged in a candid chat when the latter sought advice from Dhawan. “One advice. You should drive carefully,” Dhawan said in the video. Check the viral video. 

Talking about Pant's injury, reports have confirmed that the Indian cricketer suffered cuts on forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and abrasions on the back in the accident. “Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back," the BCCI said in a statement.

Reports have also confirmed that Pant’s condition is stable and he has been shifted to the Max hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries, the BCCI statement further read.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister has also claimed that all the expenses of Rishabh Pant’s medical treatment will be looked out by the state government. Ever since the news about Pant meeting a horrific accident broke, best wishes started pouring in from all quarters including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and other.
