MMA fighter Anshul Jubli created history by becoming only the second Indian to get a UFC contract. Julbi took down Jeka Saragih of Indonesia in the Road to UFC final and bagged a contract in the lightweight division of the championship.

Anshul is from Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, and joined Bharat Khandare as only the second Indian to be contracted under UFC. Jubli wasn't the favourite, going into the bout, but put forth an incredible to clinch the victory. He threw some mean punches and dealt massive damage to the Indonesian eventually before registering a victory by KO in the second round.

Reacting to this fight, Anshul Jubli talked about how his performance shows why Indian fighters deserve their chance in the UFC. He also stated that he will be building on this win and will strive to be the best in the world. While talking to broadcasters, he said, "The game plan was to keep the distance, hurt him in the ground, and dominate.”


“And that's exactly what we've done, we've dominated this fight, and we've proved why we are here, why Indian fighters deserve to win the UFC, and I'm gonna keep evolving, keep grinding, and my plan is to be one of the best in the world, and I will do whatever it needs to be done." 


Further, Jubli also talked about how the Indian MMA community has worked extremely hard and he will make them proud. He said, "It is very important. Our Indian MMA community has really worked hard to send a boy into this promotion (UFC) to represent India. They have done a great job and I'm gonna make them proud," Anshul added.
