Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis was penalised with a technical foul after he brutally posterised Nick Richards in the clash against the Charlotte Hornets. The Lakers hosted Charlotte Hornets in a high-octane clash in California on Friday, December 29 (IST), and ended up registering a 133-112 win over their counterparts. The hosts bounced back from the Christmas Day defeat against the Boston Celtics.

Davis, who was doubtful of playing the clash due to an injury, had a massive slam dunk in the second quarter of the first half. While the Lakers were down by two points, Jarred Vanderbilt tried attacking the baseline. However, his defender cut off the driving line, which resulted in Vanderbilt finding a trailing Davis, who posterised Nick Richards with a dunk.

While the home crowd went into a frenzy, the Lakers’ star taunted Richards and flexed his muscles on him. The Lakers forward was slapped with a technical foul for his actions. Notably, Davis came into the clash averaging 24.9 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.5 blocks per contest while shooting 54.7% from the field and 40.7% from the three-point range in 29 games.

The Lakers will now travel to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Saturday, December 30. Talking about Davis’ career, he is playing his 12th season in the league and the fifth season with the Lakers. The 30-year-old led the franchise to three playoffs and the 2020 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
