Year after year the Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for the standard of cricket that is on display in this competition. This year too nothing is different and from the little action that fans have witnessed far, they can be sure that a power-packed a high-quality cricketing tournament is coming their way.

During match number 3 of IPL 2022, Anuj Rawat completed a sensational catch to get rid of Liam Livingstone. The incident happened in the fifth ball of the 15th over which was being bowled by Akash Deep. Needing 50 runs from 32 balls and with Livingstone in the middle, Punjab were threatening to chase down a total of over 200 runs in this game.

However, just then Livingstone tried to play one aerial stroke on the offside which did not get the desired connection. While it was dying on the fielder in the deep, Anuj Rawat, eventually he dived forward to take a low catch despite not being in his usual position behind the stumps.

Have a look at his effort here:

While it seemed like the catch would be enough to help Bangalore win this game, Odean Smith's counter-attacking 25 from just 8 balls turned the game on its head and helped Punjab chase down 205 with an over to spare. Smith's cameo meant Faf du Plessis' 88 coupled with Dinesh Karthik's finishing touches (32 from 14) went in vain as Bangalore started off their IPL 2022 campaign with a defeat.
