The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is almost done and dusted after the second acceleration was over. A total of 69 players went under the hammer during this process and Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar was also included. And as soon as his name popped up, Mumbai Indians management was on its toes to get the all-rounder back. They started the bidding and did not have to fight for long as they got hold of Arjun for just 30 Lakhs. However, Gujarat Titans' head coach Ashish Nehra did get a bit cheeky with his former teammate Zaheer Khan as he bid for Tendulkar once, just to tease MI.

Mumbai Indians in action on Day 2

Mumbai Indians did not have a great day 1 in terms of the numbers of players they bought but they were certainly back in the hunt on Day 2. Their top buy of Day 1 was Ishan Kishan who also ended as the most expensive player of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. On Day 2, Mumbai aggressively bid for Jofra Archer and got hold of the English pacer for a whopping 8 Crores, despite knowing that Archer won't be available for 2022.

They also bought Tim David for 8.25 Crores. Daniel Sams and Tymal Mills were two more additions to the overseas pool of players.
