The cricketers of the modern generation have become absolutely fearless, thanks to the various T20 leagues happening across the globe. Unlike the old days, the players look much more confident while making their international debuts because of playing so much highly competitive cricket on a regular basis. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan gave a glimpse of the same confidence when they played their first matches for India.
The fans got to see another example of a debutant exceeding all the expectations on Friday. Australia were set to face Bangladesh in the 3rd T20I in Dhaka and it was time for another new face to feature for the Kangaroos. Right-arm pacer Nathan Ellis was handed his debut T20I cap by Mitchell Starc ahead of the match as he replaced Andrew Tye in the side. There was pressure but Ellis not only thrived but broke numerous records on his first outing in Australian colours.
Ellis becomes first bowler to take hattrick on T20I debut
The speedster was introduced into the attack by skipper in the 6th over where he conceded 8 runs to begin his T20I career. He was not at his best in his next two overs as his figures read 3-0-29-0. However, Ellis was given the responsibility to bowl the final over of the innings and little did the Aussie know that he was about to enter the history books in next six deliveries.
After starting the over impressively, Ellis was hit for a boundary by Mahmudullah who reached his half-century. With pressure on the bowler, it could have been quite an expensive last three balls. And they were indeed expensive, but for the batting side! Ellis cleaned up Mahmudullah with a peach of a delivery which castled the stumps, giving the Aussie his first-ever international wicket. The pacer followed it up with a slower one where Mustafizur slogged the ball straight into the hands of Mitchell Marsh standing at deep mid-wicket.
With Ellis on hattrick ball, he came up with another slower delivery which was hit by Mahedi Hasan towards deep square leg. Ashton Agar, who had initially misjudged the catch, eventually took it cleanly as Ellis and his teammates erupted with joy.

Ellis notably became only the first-ever cricketer to take hattrick on T20I debut as Bangladesh ended their innings on 127/9 in 20 overs. Although Australia failed to chase the modest target, it would still be an unforgettable day for Ellis who had a dream start to his international career.
