Dewald Brevis impressed everyone with his performances at the U19 Men's Cricket World Cup. The batter finished the tournament as the highest run-getter. On the basis of his World Cup heroics, Mumbai Indians management placed heavy bets on him and roped him at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Everyone was excited to see 'Baby AB'.

And in only a few appearances for the franchise, the 19-year-old has left everyone amused with his range of shots. He indeed reminds people of South African legend AB de Villiers when he is on the song. And he proved why he is the most talked about young cricketer in the world at the moment. Dewald Brevis aka Baby AB hit India's one of the best current leg spinners, Rahul Chahar for 29 runs in one over.

Chahar who came to bowl the 9th over for Punjab received some harsh treatment from the youngster as he hammered four consecutive sixes on the last four balls of the over. Brevis had already hit a boundary on the second ball of the over.

MI fail to register a win!

This cameo from Dewald Brevis could do a little to MI's fortune as they could not open their account in IPL 2022. Mumbai lost their fifth game of the season on the trot making matters worse for them. The five-time champions conceded too many runs after opting to bowl and then could not time the chase perfectly. Brevis, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav gave them some hope but things went out of control for them in the middle.

MI captain Rohit Sharma looked devastated at the fifth consecutive loss. "It's hardly anything to find out (any negatives), thought we played well, came pretty close to closing the game, a couple of run-outs didn't help our cause. At one time, we were cruising along, but didn't hold our nerves, credit to PBKS for bowling well in the second half. We're trying to play with a different thought process, but it's not working out well," said Sharma at the post-match presentation.
