A Bangladeshi super fan ‘Tiger Roby’ was allegedly attacked during the second Test between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. After India registered a mammoth 280-run win over their counterparts at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, action for the second clash moved to Kanpur for the second and final Test. A rain-interrupted play on Day 1 of the Test saw Indian skipper Rohit Sharma winning the toss and inviting the rivals to put the score on the board first.
While cricketing action was in full swing on the field, Bangladeshi super fan ‘Tiger Roby’ was allegedly heckled in the stands. The fan, who was dressed in a tiger costume, was sitting in the C stand when the incident took place. He was immediately taken to a medical facility and was given necessary aid. An Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association official said that the fan was unable to communicate and it was clear that he was in distress.

An Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association Official spoke about the incident and revealed that he was in pain. Not only this, but a police officer present at the stadium said that the fan was provided first aid and an ambulance was called for him. As per the UPCA official, "As he came out of the stands, he was wincing in pain and seemed to be fainting. He was given a chair to sit but he fell.”
The police officer said, "We do not know if he was hit by somebody. We have a constable in that stand to keep an eye on the fans. We could not understand what he was saying. Probably he had pain.”
