England Cricket team's official fan army, the  Barmy Army performed a  rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’  as a sign of remembrance of a few victims of the horrific attacks in Nottingham, England. On Tuesday,  three individuals were victims of fatally stabbing in the early hours on the streets of Nottingham.

The two victims of the incident were Grace O'Malley Kumar, 19, was reported with fellow University of Nottingham student and friend - Barnaby Webber, also 19. Hence remembering them, the  Barmy Army will be performing 'Amazing Grace’ in the 56th over which was  Barnaby’s playing number.

Another gesture in memorial of these victims was a moment of silence observed at Edgbaston before the scheduled start of the game at 11 a.m. local time/3:30 p.m. IST. Talking about this gesture, Ben Stokes expressed his condolences towards the victims and stated that both teams will be wearing black armbands.

As quoted in the INDEPENDENT, h e said, “The deeply distressing scenes witnessed in Nottingham this week have brought immense sorrow to everyone, particularly the cherished friends and families of the victims. It is impossible to express how much their lives and futures have been tragically disrupted”. 

“These events sadden the England cricket teams, and we are thinking about those affected at this harrowing time. As a gesture of respect, we will honour them by wearing black armbands,” Stokes added.
