In the match 46th of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a wonderful spell, registering figures of 3/33 in his quota of four overs, to play a key role in helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) restrict Delhi Capitals (DC) to 162/8 total. In the death overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar cleaned up explosive hitter of DC, Ashutosh Sharma, deceiving him with a beautiful slower one before giving a stoic reaction to the batter.
The clean-up job of Ashutosh Sharma courtesy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar happened on the fifth ball of the 17th over after he had picked up the massive wicket of KL Rahul (41 off 39), who could only spoon a fuller length ball to the long-off fielder Jacob Bethell. In the last over of the DC innings, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also deceived Tristan Stubbs with a slower ball, who scored 34 runs in just 18 balls with five fours and one maximum, providing the late impetus to his team’s batting effort.

Apart from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, his opening bowling partner Josh Hazlewood took a couple of wickets, while Yash Dayal and Krunal Pandya also found themselves amongst the wickets. Delhi Capitals have only gotten 162 runs on the board, which is a below par total, but with the pitch assisting the bowlers a bit, it could be a tough chase for RCB.
