India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has divulged his diet plan that keeps him fit at the age of 35. The speedster, who is serving Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, appeared in The Ranveer Show and revealed that he follows a strict vegetarian diet. The veteran India pacer also added that he relinquished tea and coffee as both drinks used to relapse his gut health. However, he added that he drinks milk coffee once a week, that too rarely. “But I didn’t have good gut health, so I completely stopped tea and coffee. I now drink, maybe, once a week but very rarely. I have only normal milk coffee. But I feel bloated as it feels like an extra food,” said Bhuvneshwar.

Bhuvneshwar said that he has been adhering to a strict dietitian-approved diet for the last three-four years. The diet instructs him to avoid dairy products as these used to worsen his bloating issues. “My dietitian gave me a diet plan in which I had to avoid many things. I had to go gluten-free. I had to avoid dairy. I was also told not to eat dal because it could have been the reason for the bloating. I had stopped all these things for a year. Now, I consume a few restricted items sometimes but only outside home,” added Kumar.

Bhuvneshwar introduced paneer and tofu to fulfill protein requirements

Bhuvneshwar, who had been a vegetarian all his life, started eating eggs only to fulfill his protein needs. However, eggs couldn’t satiate his taste buds which led him to introduce protein sources such as whey protein, paneer, tofu, and edamame. “I was a vegetarian before, but then I started non-vegeting for protein. I never enjoyed it. So, I left it,” said the veteran RCB speedster.

Kumar will look to be impactful against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Bengaluru. In RCB’s comprehensive nine-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur, he chipped in with a frugal spell of 1/32 in four overs. He has played five matches in this season and has bagged six wickets at an economy of 7.84.
