Ever since rain washed out an entire day's action in the ongoing Test between South Africa and India, things have gone rather too quickly in the last two days. Unlike the first day when the batters were dominating, there has been a flurry of wickets on Day 3 and Day 4. As a result of bowlers' wreaking havoc, India were bowled out on 174 in the second innings, setting up a competitive target of 305 for the home side.

It was all going too quick and the match finally took a breather ahead of the start of Proteas' final innings, in rather bizarre circumstances. Just when Jasprit Bumrah was getting ready to bowl the opening over, the camera caught Ravichandran Ashwin looking not too happy with the new shining Kookaburra ball in his hand.

Confusion in Centurion!

The commentators assumed that it might not be the same ball that Ashwin would have selected for South Africa's second innings. Well, it looked like it was exactly the case as the Indian players gathered around the umpire to put their case in front of them. Kohli and Co. were visibly looking upset with the ball which was presented to them which led to some confusion.

Team India get a new Kookaburra ball

As it turned out, the umpires agreed that there might have been some mistake as the 4th umpire came out running onto the field with a box full of new Kookaburra balls. Virat Kohli, alongside Ravichandran Ashwin and other bowlers, spent a few minutes to analyse them before finally selecting the cricket ball for South Africa's second innings.

The commentators were left slightly surprised with the entire incident as the match got delayed by around 5 minutes due to the entire confusion.

As the match resumed, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami bowled a brilliant opening spell with the new ball with the latter eventually dismissing Aiden Markram. Going to tea break on Day 4, South Africa were 22/1 in 9 overs with the stage perfectly set for an exciting end to this contest.
