On Tuesday, March 27, the Brazilian men’s football team wore the “One Skin, One Identity” jackets ahead of their friendly against Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. The match was put together to highlight the fight against racism after a series of attacks on Vinicius Jr, who captained Brazil for the first time in his career versus Spain.

It was a high-scoring thriller between two of the most potent attacking teams in the international game, with Spain going 2-0 ahead, thanks to Rodri (12’) and Dani Almo (36’) goals. In response, Brazil levelled the score at 2-2 after Rodrygo (40’) and Endrick (50’) scored two goals either side of the half-time.

Spain looked to have sealed the match after Rodri put away a penalty in the 87th minute, the third goal set up on the night by Lamine Yamal, the 16-year-old, who was leading his country. But, deep into second half stoppage time, Lucas Paqueta converted a penalty for Brazil, to ensure that it ended in a 3-3 draw.
