The recent Manchester United fixture ended in a comeback draw against Chelsea. The game was all square at 1-1 with Marco Alonso scoring the first goal for the Blues in the 60th minute. Then just minutes later, former Chelsea man Nemanja Matic sent out a great chip pass over the defence for striker Cristiano Ronaldo who smashed the ball past Eduard Mendy.

Then days later, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Matic's sons recreated the goal that their fathers had scored against Chelsea. Playing on an indoor pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and Filip Matic re-enacted the goal. Both these players have played at the Manchester United Academy where Cristiano Ronaldo Jr signed a new contract.

After the Chelsea match, the Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick praised both Ronaldo and Matic for their impact and incredible performances at Old Trafford. While addressing CR7, he said, “[It was] not only the goal that he scored today, also his whole performance, his attitude. How often he helped in our own half. At the age of 37, a player like him, this is not normal to do that. He showed that today and if he plays like he did today he can still be a great help for this team.”

Rangnick also talked about Matic’s performance as he said, “He’s got a top mentality, he’s a top-class professional player and that’s why I’m happy I could give him more game time in the last couple of weeks. For me, [it was] a very good performance by Nema.”
