Cristiano Ronaldo begged a new record to his name as he scored his 50th goal for Al-Nassr in their opening match of the 2024 Saudi Pro League at Al-Awwal Stadium in Riyadh on August 22nd. The match ended in 1-1 draw after the full time with Ronaldo and Mohamed Fouzair being the scorers for their respective teams. 

Ronaldo helped Al-Nassr to take a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute of the match with a powerful header from close range,  which turned out to be his 50th goal in the Saudi Pro League. However, Al-Raed made a comeback as Fouzair struck in the 49th minute to take the scoreline to 1-1. 

Cristiano Ronaldo nears 900 career goals

Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 50 goals in just 48 matches for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. With this, Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored 899 goals in his overall career for country and club football. The Portuguese football star is now just one strike away from reaching the milestone of 900 career goals. 

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 after ending his contract with Manchester United. He has been looking for his first major trophy since then. Al-Nassr finished as runner-up in the last season of the Saudi Pro League after losing the final against Al-Hilal. They also recently lost against Al Hilal by 1-4 in the final of the Saudi Super Cup on August 17th.
