Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen, who won the gold medal in men's singles badminton event at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games 2022, received a warm welcome at the Bengaluru airport on Wednesday. Lakshya was also spotted shaking a leg with his loved ones and friends in a video shared on social media.

The 20-year-old Indian shuttler also won a silver medal in the mixed Team badminton event at the CWG 2022 as India lost to Malaysia in the final.

Lakshya Sen defeated Ng Tze Yong of Malaysia 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 in the final of the men's singles category. He completed a sensational comeback in the final to win his maiden CWG gold medal.

Sen told ANI, "There was a lot of pressure this time because of the past results as well. I knew that it was not going to be easy. But I had the belief that I could go all the way from the beginning. So, I made it. I am used to these types of welcomes now. Would like to thank everyone who came."

Indian contingent finished the Birmingham Games at the fourth spot after winning 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze medals in the quadrennial multi-sport tournament. This was the fifth best performance by the Indian contingent in their CWG history.
