After failing to defend his title in the second round of the Canadian Open 2022 and suffering embarrassing defeat at the hands of Nick Kyrgios, Daniil Medvedev expressed his anger and frustration over bunch of tennis fans who called him a 'loser' following his disappointing defeat.

Notably, the Aussie defeated Daniil Medvedev with a serve-and-volley masterpiece to earn his eighth straight victory, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-2. In a video which has gone viral on social media, Medvedev can be seen responding aggressively to the spectator who reportedly called him a 'loser' while the tennis player was walking out of the stadium.

After listening to the 'loser' chant, Medvedev approached the fan and appeared as if both engaged in an argument. The 2021 US Open winner eventually left the scene after security guards intervened in the matter.

After being eliminated in the second round in Montreal, Daniil Medvedev expressed his disappointment as he admitted that he didn't feel confident after losing and it would not be easy for him to recover and mark his return to practice knowing that other players are there competing for the 1,000 points that he just let slip from his hands.

"Look when you lose, you are never happy and feel confident. The next two or three days will not be easy and coming back to the same place knowing everybody is still playing in Montreal, fighting for a thousand points will make it tougher," he said post match.

"I hope to play well in Cincinnati and US Open. When I say 'well' its to try to be the winner. Guys like Nick, Carlos, who lost today but can win Cincinnati, the US Open. Rafa and, Novak, we don't know what's happening. A lot of good guys," he concluded. He further asserted that he wants to show his best tennis in the next tournament and try to be better in future.
