Australia registered a comprehensive victory over England in the first ODI of the three-match series the two teams are playing. The Pat Cummins-led team beat England by six wickets to go 1-0 up. After some good bowling performances, Australian batters put a collective effort to chase down 288 with ease. David Warner, Travis Head, and Steven Smith scored half-centuries while Alex Carey and Cameron Green scored in the 20s.

Earlier, with the ball, Cummins and Adam Zampa took three wickets each while Starc bagged a single wicket, of Jason Roy with Marcus Stoinis also scalping a wicket. Ashton Agar had his moments on the field as he made two brilliant saves and also nailed a direct hit to send back Liam Dawson. So, overall, it was a complete team performance from the host team to take down England.

But among all these moments on the field, nothing could match the wholesome moment David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne had with a fan during the match. As the broadcasters showed on the screen, a young Australian fan was spotted with a note in his hand. “David Warner, can I have your shirt?” it asked. The cricketer, sitting in the dressing room also noticed this.

While Warner suggested that he can’t take his shirt off as he was wearing nothing inside it, he wrote a note for the kid that read “Get one of Marnus (Labuschagne)”. Another fan came with a note in his hand seeking Labuschagne’s shirt. “Marnus, can I please have your shirt?” the kid asked. To this, Warner was seen signalling the kid to come to the dressing room.

Talking about David Warner, the batter, the southpaw put his poor run of form at the T20 World Cup 2022 behind and scored an 84-ball 86 powered with ten boundaries and a six. Warner also stitched a 147-run opening partnership with Travis Head (69 off 57).
