David Warner continued to show off his class and ability on the field as he grabbed a special catch in the first One Day International against Sri Lanka. The 2015 World Cup winners lost the toss and were put to bowl first. The Aussies looked in control as the home team was looking to build on the score of 134 from 25 overs.

Here number four batter Dhananjaya de Silva danced down the wicket to chip this over the infield at mid-on, where Warner was placed inside the circle. Seeing the ball in his direction swiftly moved across to his right and jumped in the air to pluck out an unbelievable one-handed catch. Silva’s wicket rattled the Sri Lankan team as they couldn’t capitalize on the openers’ fine start.

Throughout this Australia - Sri Lanka series, David Warner has been a crucial member of this Aussie both on and off the field. During the T20 series, Warner revealed how he spotted Finch dealing with some technical issues and texted him about what was required to be done.

“[I just said] not to walk out into the ball, let the ball do the work in the air," David Warner said. "If they want to bowl nice and full, if you stay still, keep that leg-stump line, you are going to hit full contact with the ball.”

“He was probably moving a little too much, was walking straight into the ball and was still moving at the time of the delivery. You don't really want to do that unless you are charging. Just kept in touch with him, I always do, we support each other as much as we can. If we see little things we try to help out by dropping a message.”
