Deepak Hooda has been in sublime form in the recent past. The Rajasthan cricketer has been grabbing all the opportunities coming his way. First, Hooda impressed everyone with his batting prowess in IPL 2022 while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and now the all-rounder has started making instant impact while playing for the national team.

Deepak Hooda backed his fearless innings of 47* (29) in the 1st T20I against Ireland with a splendid knock in the second match. Actually, the batter scored his maiden T20I hundred in just his fifth match. Sent in to bat at No.3 for India, Hooda took on the Ireland bowlers from the ball go. The batter hit a maximum off Mark Adair to send alarming signs into the opposition camp.

Deepak Hooda kept on building on the quick start he got and eventually reached the three-figure mark. As soon as the batter scored his maiden ton in the shortest format, he was elated as ever. He celebrated his ton as calmly as one could imagine. Deepak Hooda kissed the air after nudging the ball towards the deep point region. He then raised his bat to acknowledge the applause from the fans and his teammates.

Deepak Hooda into the elite list!

With his innings of 104 (57), Deepak Hooda got himself included in an elite list of players who have scored a century in the shortest format of the game while playing for India. Deepak Hooda became only the fourth Indian male cricketer (after Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul) to amass a ton in T20I. The 27-year-old achieved the feat in only his fifth match.

Such was the day for Deepak Hooda that he not only achieved an individual milestone but also put together a record partnership with Sanju Samson. Both the batters knitted 176-run partnership for the second wicket and created the record of highest partnership by any Indian pair in T20Is.
