Everton, who were lucky to outlive the Premier League relegation last season, have lost their final game of the US tour against the MLS side Minnesota United by 4-0 on Wednesday. Notably, Everton forward Dele Alli missed an absolute sitter in the 74th minute.

After losing 2-0 against Arsenal, Frank Lampard's Everton was hoping to dominate their pre season match against the American side Minnesota. But the Americans got the better of the Toffees as they managed a 3-goal lead by the end of the halftime.

However, things became awful for the English international Dele Alli when he missed a chance to score an open goal from a yard out. In the 74th minute, Mason Holgate sent a low cross inside the box and the former Tottenham striker hit the ball wide, missing the chance to score a simple tap-in.

Watch the unlucky miss from Dele Alli:

After the game, Everton coach Frank Lampard said, "The players have to work and understand we were in a relegation battle for a big portion of last season. We had an amazing night (against Crystal Palace) and an amazing run, but as soon as that finished, I put it to bed very quickly, so the players have to put it to bed as well, because we were in that fight for a reason."

"If we don’t want to be in that situation again, they have to be better and I have to be better. The players in the dressing room need to understand that they’ve put in a very poor performance individually and collectively," he added.
