Extraordinary scenes unfolded at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the IPL 2022 match between Delhi Capitals and the Rajasthan Royals on Friday. While Prasidh Krishna bowled a wicket maiden in the penultimate over of the match to seemingly seal the deal in favour of Rajasthan with an unlikely 36 needed off the last 6 balls, Delhi Capitals all-rounder Rovman Powell had other ideas and smashed the first three balls of the last over for sixes to make things interesting.

Moreover, the third ball of the last over which was being bowled by Obed McCoy was a full toss that was near waist height. While the Delhi camp thought it was a no-ball, the umpire gave it a fair delivery. Dramatic scenes followed as a member of the DC camp ran onto the field to argue the call from the umpire. It also seemed like captain Rishabh Pant was signalling the batters to walk off.

Later while speaking to the broadcaster, Pant said they were convinced it was a no-ball and it wasn't even a close call. He added that the third umpire could have interfered but it wasn't in their hands. He admitted that they were wrong on their part to go to the ground but said that both the parties were guilty.
