The fifth match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is underway at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. After opting to bowl first, Sunrisers' bowlers troubled the Rajasthan batters for a while but also struggled to keep their foot inside the line as they bowled as many four no-balls inside the powerplay.

Nonetheless, after a shaky start to the innings, RR batters gained control as they aggregated 58 runs in the powerplay. Even after they lost Yashaswi Jaiswal, Samson and Buttler kept the scoreboard ticking with timely boundaries. However, Umran Malik struck on the first bowl of his second over as he removed Buttler. Devdutt Padikkal joined Samson in the middle and started flashing right from the first ball. In the process, Padikkal hit the first Tata Punch six of the tournament.

What is Tata Punch six in IPL 2022

The Tata Punch six means if a batter hits a six and the ball hits the Tata Punch vehicle placed at the ground, it will be called with that name. The sponsor has also announced that for every Tata Punch six hit in the tournament, they will be donating INR five lakhs for the conservation of Kaziranga National Park.

Padikkal departs after quickfire 41

All of the Rajasthan batters looked in fine touch on Tuesday evening as they keep smashing SRH bowlers for fun. While Sanju Samson was taking on spinners, Devdutt Padikkal was busy handling the quicker bowlers. He was taking on any pacer coming his way and was middling every shot. In his innings of 41, the southpaw scored four boundaries and two sixes including the Tata Punch six. However, his fiery innings was cut short by Umran Malik. The young pacer clean bowled Padikkal with a jaffa.
