In the first match of one-off double-header Tuesday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. For the unversed, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to field first in the match number 21 of IPL 2025.

Putting the visitors, LSG to bat first, the Rishabh Pant-led side posted 238 runs at the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. While Aiden Markran and Mitchell Marsh stiched a 99-run stand for the opening wicket, Nicholas Pooran once again anchored the innings with his 36-ball 87*. As the hosts walked in to chase the competitive target, it was Akash Deep who drew thw first blood.

Digvesh Rathi once again brings up his notebook celebration after getting his idol Sunil Narine in IPL 2025

With Sunil Narine and skipper Ajinkya Rahane looking good for the defending champions, it was Digvesh Rathi who gave LSG their second breakthrough. The Delhi bowler got the prized wicket of all-rounder Sunil Narine, who departed having scored 30 off 13 deliveries. With this wicket, Digvesh Rathi once again brought his trademark celebration, but this time emulated it on the ground.

It is to be noted that ahead of the match, Rathi met his idol, video of which was shared by the KKR franchise. In the clip, LSG’s stylish batter Nicholas Pooran also asked Digvesh, “he (Narine) doesn’t celebrate, why do you celebrate?” Replying to Pooran’s query, Digvesh gave a humorous reply saying, “Because I am from Delhi.”

Speaking of the match, after Sunil Narine’s departure, the KKR scoreboard read 91/2 with Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer in the middle.
