While India were 0-1 down in the three-match series after succumbing to a defeat in the series opener in Mohali, home fans were treated to an India win in the second T20I in Nagpur. Although one would look back at the match as the one where Axar Patel and Rohit Sharma starred for the Men in Blue, Dinesh Karthik had an equally challenging task to do.
India's designated finisher Karthik joined Rohit only with 7 balls to go and faced his first ball in the final over. The equation at this stage read India need 9 runs in the last 6 balls. However, Karthik made easy work out of it and scored a 6 off the first delivery that he faced and followed it up by a boundary to take India past Australia's total with 4 balls to spare.

Karthik picked the on side for both his shots and cleared the fence easily on the first occasion while finding the gap to a surgeon's precision on the second occasion. India's 6-wicket win meant the hosts have now levelled the series 1-1 with the final T20I scheduled to be played on Sunday in Hyderabad.
