Days after winning the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, Jos Buttler-led side is up against Australia in the first off three ODIs in Adelaide. While batting first, England's top-order batter Dawid Malan's brilliant century propelled the side to 287/9 in 50 overs.

The 35-year-old left-handed batter smashed 134 off 128 deliveries with the help of four maximums and 12 boundaries to post competitive score on board. David Willey (34 off 40) and Jos Buttler (29 off 34) were two other notable performances from the side.

In response to 287, Australia got to a flying start as David Warner (86 off 84) and Travis Head (69 off 57) provided solid foundation by adding 147 runs for the first wicket. While Australia was cruising ahead on the back of dominating performance from Australian openers, England bowlers aided some damage by reducing Australia to 200-2 in 28.3 overs.

Meanwhile, England skipper Jos Buttler who could not produce clinical performance with the bat, flaunted his athleticism at his best to reduce Australia to 206-3. It was the 31st over of the match when Buttler made a full-length dive to his right and perfectly grabbed an outside edge off Marnus Labuschagne. Buttler's brilliant fielding provided much-needed breakthrough to the England side.

Watch the catch here:

England had a poor start to their batting as the side was soon reduced to 20-2 in 4.2 overs. England openers, Jason Roy (6 off 11) and Philip Salt (14 off 15), were dismissed early in the game. However, David Malan delivered clinical performance to guide England to a competitive total on board.

Australia, however, chased down the target comfortably on the back of brilliant fifties from Travis Head, David Warner and Steve Smith.
