England and South Africa are currently battling for the Basil D'Oliveira Trophy 2022 after the hosts were handed defeat in the first Test of the three-match series. South Africa won the first Test by an innings and 12 runs to take a lead of 1-0.   

During South Africa's first innings, the Three Lions pacer Stuart Broad took a stunning catch to send South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada back to the pavilion.

On the third Day of the Test match, Kagiso Rabada, who came in to bat at number eight for the Proteas, tried to smash a boundary on Matthew Potts' delivery over the mid on fielder, Stuart Broad. However, the 6-foot-6" tall Broad grabbed a stunning catch and left the batsman in disbelief.

Batting first, England were restricted to 165 runs in their first innings as the Proteas bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje took five and three wickets respectively. England batter Ollie Pope played a innings saviour knock of 73 runs at the Lord's Cricket Ground.

On the other side, South Africa batters scored 326 runs as their opener Sarel Erwee scored 73 runs and Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen, and Keshav Maharaj scored more than 40 runs each.

South Africa are currently on a tour of England for three-match white-ball cricket and Test series. The ODI series between the two countries was drawn 1-1 as the third ODI was abandoned while the visitors won the T20I series 2-1. England and South Africa will face each other for the remaining two Test matches on August 25 and September 8 respectively.
