Xavi Hernandez's Barcelona defeated Espanyol 4-2 on Sunday night to win the La Liga title for the first time since 2019 and will claim their 27th Spanish league title at the end of the season. After winning the game at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barca players celebrated on the away turf which made the home fans rush to the ground forcing the Blaugrana into the tunnel.

For the first time since Lionel Messi left the club, Barcelona won the La Liga title as star striker Robert Lewandowski scored a first-half brace while defenders Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde scored a goal each to take the Catalan giants on a four-goal lead. Espanyol fought back by scoring two goals but eventually fell short of two goals and currently suffer a relegation scare.

After confirming the title victory, Barcelona players celebrated by forming a circle in the middle of the ground and singing songs on the rivals' turf. However, the Espanyol fans were not having any of it and rushed to the ground forcing the players off the pitch into the tunnel. Some violent fans, who were wearing face masks, even managed to enter the tunnel while security guards captured many of them as the situation got out of hand in seconds.
