Alfa Romeo racer Kimi Raikkonen suffered a major crash during practice session 2 on Friday evening ahead of Bahrain Grand Prix. The 41-year-old lost control of his car during the evening session of practice under the lights. He completely lost control of his car at the exit of turn 2, spun across the gravel, hit the barrier and damaged his front wing.
The Finn reflected on his crash during his conversation with the reporters in paddock. He said, “I lost the rear, hit the wall, and that’s about it. We were here a week ago for testing, doing a lot of laps, obviously it’s not ideal but it doesn’t change much.”

Raikkonen's performance in Bahrain so far
The Finnish driver was the 11th fastest in FP1 while he had to settle for 16th position in FP2 after the unfortunate crash. Kimi bounced back on Saturday with a spirited drive, which saw him emerge as 7th fastest in FP3. The experienced racer went into the all-important qualifying session on Saturday with some confidence and eventually finished 14th in the grid.
It will be interesting to see if Kimi can produce a Top 10 finish when the racing season kicks off with Bahrain Grand Prix scheduled on March 28. The action will begin at IST 8:30 PM, live from Bahrain International Circuit.
