The PSL 2022 Qualifier match on Wednesday witnessed two of the best teams of the tournament - Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars - locking horns with each other for a place in grand finale. As it turned out, both the sides played out a thrilling T20 game which had almost everything. Chasing a target of 164 runs, it looked like Qalandars were down and out with score reading 48/3 in 8.4 overs but this is when in-form Fakhar Zaman launched a counter attack.

With spinners bowling, the left-handed batsman took matters in his own hands and started to wreak havoc in Lahore. With the required run-rate constantly increasing, Fakhar targeted the 12th over being bowled by experienced leg-spinner Imran Tahir and things took a dramatic turn in just few minutes.

On the 2nd delivery, the southpaw smashed a six over deep mid-wicket which just cleared the boundary. He followed it up with another maximum towards extra-cover region before sending the ball on the roof with a 101 meter six towards deep mid-wicket, completing a fantastic hattrick of sixes.

Fakhar continued his aggressive approach in next over as well and this time around, left-arm spinner Khushdil Shah became his next target, as the Qalandars batsman smashed another huge six.

After playing an incredible 63-run knock off 45 balls, Fakhar was eventually dismissed by David Willey which got Multan Sultans back into the contest. Unfortunately, Qalandars batting collapsed as they finished at 135/9 in 20 overs, falling short of the target by 28 runs as Sultans cruised to the final.
