On Thursday, January 30, the first morning of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 clash between Railways and Delhi was all about the Indian cricketing superstar, Virat Kohli, who made his first domestic appearance for the better part of the last 13 years. Thousands of fans showed up at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to catch a glimpse of Virat Kohli, and one of them breached security to touch his feet, which was captured on camera.
For the unversed, after winning the toss, Ayush Badoni, the captain of Delhi, decided to field first, and within the first six overs, both the openers of Railways, namely Anchit Yadav and Vivek Singh were dismissed cheaply, while the captain Suraj Ahuja lost his wicket soon after. The fourth wicket partnership of 45 runs between Mohammad Saif and Upendra Yadav was broken by Money Grewal, who trapped Bhargav Merai in front of the stumps on the very next ball, reducing Railways to 66/5.
Virat Kohli is playing in his first match in Ranji Trophy in nearly 13 years
Amidst all the chaos around Railways batting on the field, Delhi cricketer Virat Kohli was getting tons of adulation from the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium before one of the fans decided to take the matter into his own hands. He ran like a speed of light on the field to touch the feet of Virat Kohli, who wanted nothing to do with him before security personnel came around to take the fan away.
